The Catalyst is a multi-use arts and cultural space located at 4810 NE Garfield Ave in the heart of Portland, Oregon’s vibrant inner-northeast. Nestled between the Alberta and Mississippi cultural districts, Catalyst is available to the public as a versatile studio/gallery ideal for:

• group meetings, • workshops/demos, • guest speakers, • social occasions, • live art, • rites & rituals,

The Catalyst is a 1500sf ground-level studio perfect for groups of 4 to 40+, featuring a 950sf open-plan central space plus a restroom, bar, and semi-private “back room.”

Catalyst boasts extensive art exhibition capabilities featuring a constantly changing display of Portland’s most provocative fine art.

Additional features include full heating & AC, AV capability, wheelchair-accessibility and more!

Home of sex-positive cultural initiatives such as L. Alan Arts Curating, Darklady Productions and others, Catalyst was created as a safe, healthy, vibrant community setting dedicated to ethical & creative self-expression. The space is open to adults and attended minors during posted hours (see facebook link below) and by appointment, and is now accepting reservations for private use. (Attendance policies may vary by event.)
